Sandwich panels are also used in MODULIX modular containers: 50 mm walls and a 40 mm ceiling with a PUR core.

A sandwich panel consists of two outer faces and an insulating core, bonded so that they work together under load. This composite action gives a higher load-bearing capacity than the layers would have separately.
Pre-painted galvanised steel, pre-painted aluminium or stainless steel; optionally a PVC/TPO membrane or GRP. Rigidity, impact protection and sealing.
PUR, PIR or basalt mineral wool. It bonds the faces, provides insulation and adds to the strength of the assembly.
Polyester (PE) 20 µm · PVDF 25 µm · Plastisol / PVC 100 µm · Polyurethane 20 µm · Laminated PVC film 120 µm.
The core and the metal face are chosen according to the thermal and fire requirements and the exposure environment of the project.
Polymer produced by the reaction of isocyanate and polyol. Provides insulation and adhesion to the faces; light and wear-resistant, for thermal and acoustic insulation.
Rigid three-dimensional network with high thermal resistance and better fire performance than PUR; forms a charred layer when exposed to flame.
Fibrous material made from volcanic rock melted at 1,350–1,400 °C. Thermal insulation, sound absorption and fire class A2-s1,d0. Recyclable.
Hot-dip galvanised with 100–275 g/m² zinc, approx. 5 µm primer and coil-coated in RAL colours.
Light, corrosion-resistant and easy to work; tensile strength 175 MPa, temper H16–H26.
At least 10.5% chromium; also used in cold rooms for corrosion resistance and hygiene.

For roofs with a pitch between 2% and 7%. Above 7%, panels with two metal faces are used.

Glass-fibre reinforced polyester, resistant to chemicals, acidic environments and abrasion: livestock farms, poultry houses, food processing.

Special joint for sealing and thermal insulation, insulation thickness 80–200 mm, widths 800–1,200 mm.
Metal faces are available in a wide range of RAL colours. On-screen shades are indicative.

C and U profiles for roof and facade structures; 18/76, 27/200 and 38/151 profiled sheet in galvanised steel or aluminium with RAL finishes; accessories and fixings for flashings, corners, ridges, plinths and gutters.

Thickness depends on the required thermal insulation and the spacing between purlins. MODULIX panels have 40–200 mm of insulation; for example, a roof panel with a 60 mm PUR core has U ≈ 0.37 W/m²K. The load tables in the catalogue show the span each thickness can carry.
PUR and PIR give the best insulation for a small thickness (λ 0.022 W/(m K)); PIR performs better in fire (B-s1,d0). Basalt wool is class A2-s1,d0, also insulates against sound and is chosen when fire requirements are strict.
PUR/PIR core panels are supplied in lengths of 2,500–13,600 mm and basalt wool panels in 2,500–12,500 mm. The standard effective width is 1,000 mm; some facade panels come in widths of 800–1,200 mm.
